Ingredients:
– 2 large eggs
– 1/2 cup sugar
– 1/2 cup milk
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
– 1/2 tsp salt
– 2 tsp baking powder
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– 1 cup diced fresh strawberries
– 1/4 cup strawberry syrup
– 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
– 1/4 cup strawberry crumble (crushed freeze-dried strawberries mixed with sugar)
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a donut pan to ensure easy release after baking.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Whisk these dry ingredients together until well-blended.
3. In another bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of milk, 2 large eggs, 1/4 cup of melted unsalted butter, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; the batter should be smooth with a few lumps remaining.
5. Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full to give them room to rise.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the donuts are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Once baked, allow them to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
7. While the donuts are cooling, prepare the glaze by whisking together 1/2 cup of powdered sugar and a small amount of milk until you achieve a smooth, thick consistency. Adjust the milk to achieve your desired glaze thickness.
8. Once the donuts are completely cool, dip the tops of each donut into the glaze, allowing the excess to drip off.
9. Top each glazed donut with diced fresh strawberries for a fruity burst of flavor.
10. For an extra touch of sweetness, drizzle with 1/4 cup of strawberry syrup and sprinkle the strawberry crumble over the top for added texture.
11. Arrange the donuts on a tray and serve fresh, sharing the joy with family and friends!
